Introduce your grandchild to genealogy with this charming picture book about a grandparent sharing their love of family history with a young grandchild. Choose from alternate grandparent name titles, grandchild genders, and ethnicities that best fit your own family. Share your love of family history!
Books available HERE.

Be sure to at least skim through the list of new events this week — along with some really interesting programs, there are several seminars and conference dates for 2024!

🔵 AWARD & SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINES
Several awards and scholarship application deadlines occur in December. The deadline for the many National Genealogical Society awards & recognitions for just about every area of genealogical research, service & volunteerism, is Dec. 15.

Dec. 31 is the deadline for the Donald Mosher Memorial Award for Colonial Virginia Research administered by the Board for Certification of Genealogists (BCG) Education Fund.

If you’re thinking about attending The Genealogical Institute on Federal Records (Gen-Fed), you’ll want to be sure to apply for the 2024 Richard S. Lackey Memorial Scholarship by January 31, 2024 (Note the change in deadline date – previously Dec. 31).

You can find details of these and other Awards, Grants & Scholarships on our website.

🔵 BIG DISCOUNT ON IAJGS CONFERENCE RECORDINGS
During Hanukkah (through 12/15/2023) the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies is offering a deeply discounted price ($72) for access to all recorded sessions from this past summer’s IAJGS conference in London. Access to these recordings will be available through 30 January 2024. To purchase, go to https://www.https://iajgs2023.org/ and answer a few questions. Once at the order screen, choose “On-Demand Video Subscriber Ticket.”

🔵 AND STILL ANOTHER BENEFIT OF MEMBERSHIP
National Genealogical Society (NGS) members may take $75 off the purchase of the course “Foundations in Family History.” This course was developed to take genealogists step-by-step through the fundamental concepts of researching family history. It will provide a solid foundation in the research skills needed to find and evaluate records and to build a family tree—generation by generation. Not only would this make a great gift, but if you’re not yet an NGS member, it’s a great reason to join… Individual membership is just $75!

Please feel free to send me your genealogy news, deadlines, and of course your events too! — if it’s of interest to genealogists, we’re happy to share! You may reach me through either the CONTACT form on the website or email at info@conferencekeeper.org Have a great week! – Tami Osmer Mize
