🔵 POSSIBLE DOWNTIME
I’m making some site changes this week that may require ConferenceKeeper.org to be unavailable for hopefully a few minutes only in the next couple days. If you notice anything broken, or just plain odd on the website after that, please let me know!!! Email me at info@conferencekeeper.org, use the “CONTACT” tab, or even message me on Facebook.

🔵 NEW PODCAST, YOUTUBE & VOLUNTEER OPS

  • Two new genealogy podcasts were added to the Podcasts page this week: Ohio Roots and Weekly Genealogy Toolkit.
  • One new YouTube channel was added: G(r)eek Talk
  • and one new Volunteer opportunity: Project Infant (Daniel Loftus’ project to document unwed mothers and children in Irish institutions)

🔵 KYGS “MARCH MADNESS”
The Kentucky Genealogical Society shared a fun post this week “March Madness 2024: Expand Your Genealogical Game Beyond BMD!”, offering two free downloads – the first is an excellent 14-page overview of 64 genealogy record types you should incorporate in your family history research, and also a 2024 Genealogy Records Championship Bracket to really get into the “March Madness” theme. Find their post here.

🔵 DNA KIT SALE
MyHeritage is offering DNA kits as low as $36 in their Spring DNA Sale. Details here (not an affiliate link). The website says “Sale ends soon.”

🔵 NGS A.I. TOOLBOX WEBINARS
I attended the first of the monthly NGS A.I. Toolbox webinars this past week, taught by Mark Thompson, and was totally amazed at how much I learned about using A.I. with photographs at this excellent program. The scheduled events Toolbox through June are already sold out, but more will be coming, and I’ll let you know when they’re available.

🔵 NEW MULTIPLE-EVENT SUBMISSION TEMPLATE
If you’re submitting several events to the ConferenceKeeper calendar and not not looking forward to filling out the Submission form over, and over, and over again, try out the ConferenceKeeper Multiple-Event Submission Template! It’s an excel form that hopefully will make it easy to submit several events at once, allowing you to easily copy and paste, or click and drag to duplicate field entries (like society name, submitted by, etc.). Many thanks to John at East Cuyahoga County Chapter OGS/Genealogical Society for trying it out this past week. It made my work easy and hopefully yours too! I’m always looking for ways to make it convenient for folks to send in their events and hopefully this will help. The form, with basic instructions and a sample entry, are here: https://pxl.to/CKmultiSubmit

🔵 “LIKE NETFLIX FOR GENEALOGY”
I received an email this week from The Society of Genealogists’ about their new Gold Membership, which gives members access to currently 96 talks from top genealogists, with more added weekly. It’s £15 a month and can be cancelled at any time. Details here.
