Father’s Day in the US is next Sunday, June 18.  You’ll find some unique and useful genealogy gifts from any of the advertisers that you’ll find on the sidebars of most pages of the website. From genealogy books, courses, programs and more to help with research at any level!  We do ever not make any commissions from purchases, but we do appreciate your support of the advertisers who support ConferenceKeeper!!

A BANNER WEEK!

The news is out about our merger with the National Genealogical Society, that’s for sure! Between the NGS press release, and Dick Eastman sharing it in his wildly popular newsletter this week, our website has been busy! Welcome to all the new folks and new email subscribers this week!

LEGACY FAMILY TREE WEBINARS CHANGES/UPDATES

Legacy Family Tree Webinars has made a couple of changes/updates to previously scheduled webinars:

FREE MINI CLASSES ON PROFESSIONAL GEN

EvalogueLife is hosting three free 20-minute classes in their “Pro Lunch Series.”  Whether you’re a professional genealogist already, or especially if you are thinking about shifting from dabbling to charging, these short classes — “Turning Pro,” “Pricing,” and “Planning” – will give you insights into the business of genealogy.

 HAVE A SOCIAL SUMMER

I’ve often recommended attending virtual genealogy chats both for sharing your knowledge and learning from others as well as just the fun of interacting with like-minded folks, and this week another series for the summer has been added that might interest you.

Pastfinders of South Lake County FL has scheduled free weekly, virtual genealogy chats through the summer months. Each chat will be about a different genealogy topic, and they’re free and open to all.

You can always search any of the calendars for keywords, like “chat” or “discussion,” to find many other opportunities to hang out with other genealogists and just talk.

 PLANNING FOR FALL

I spent some time this week scouring the internet for this year’s upcoming Fall Seminars, Conferences & Workshops. You will probably notice a few listings this week with “Save the Date” so that you can, well, you guessed it – save the date 😊  If you know of any big genealogy events this fall that are planned and not already on our calendar, please let me know! You can email me at info@conferencekeeper.org. Thank you!

ADVERTISING ON CONFERENCEKEEPER.ORG

While including any genealogy event on our calendar is always completely free, if you’d like a little more visibility for your genealogy event or product, you might consider advertising on our sidebars. Rates are set to be accessible for even small businesses or societies. You can find full details under the HOME tab on the menu bar, at https://conferencekeeper.org/advertising-on-conferencekeeper-org/

. . . . . .

As always, please don’t hesitate to share your thoughts and comments, suggestions, and especially corrections. They help me keep the calendar as up to date as possible, and also help me know what may need improvement.   Don’t hesitate to use the CONTACT form on the website or email me at  info@conferencekeeper.org if you’d like to reach me.  Have a great week!

– Tami Osmer Mize
