VIRTUAL GENEALOGY ROAD TRIP
Pack your virtual research bag! In September, St. Louis County Library is hosting a three-part virtual “Genealogy Road Trip” series, with each webinar offering a guided tour of a different genealogy library. Featured will be the Midwest Genealogy Center, The Genealogy Center at Allen County Public Library, and the Springfield-Greene County Library—three destinations packed with collections, tools, and research possibilities for family historians. The webinars are on our calendar, but can also be found here
VIDEO AVAILABLE
Everyone is invited to watch the recording of the latest NGS OrgConnects! event, Family History for Everyone: Belonging and Inclusion in the Genealogy Community, on the NGS YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/xU5RDCmwuHA. NGS organization members were invited to a discussion on how to strengthen and grow our community and help more people feel welcome to explore their family history and be a part of genealogy organizations. The session highlighted Belonging: Creating a Welcoming Community for Everyone – An Inclusion Toolkit for Genealogical Organizations and the article “Family History for Everyone” from the January-March 2026 NGS Magazine. These two resources and info about NGS organization membership can be found at https://www.ngsgenealogy.org.
FAMILY PAPERS
The NGS Family Papers Collection is one of the many valuable resources available to NGS members. It includes information from more than 2,000 family Bibles, over 60,000 ancestor charts, and abstracts from The National Intelligencer from 1800 to 1850. Members can search by name and view PDF scans of many items. These records may contain family history details not found elsewhere. More about this and other benefits of membership at https://www.ngsgenealogy.org/member-resources/
DON’T PASS UP FREE ADVERTISING!
NGS Organization members may request a FREE, 30-day sidebar ad on the ConferenceKeeper.org website each year, to promote an event or even just your society or library, Don’t wait until the end of the year – The sidebars get pretty crowded by November. Contact me at info@conferencekeeper.org with any questions.
