THIS WEEK
There are 86 new events added this past week, and as always, there’s quite a variety of topics covered. Along with the usual subjects you’ll find programs on oral history, mapping your genealogy, Hmong, Huguenots, Latino, Polish, Jewish, and African American topics plus many more. Peruse the list to see which programs might benefit your research.
I’m in Arizona this week, visiting with my sister and dad. My two daughters and their families have also been here for a few days as we’re celebrating dad’s 99th birthday (that’s him to the right, blowing out his candles). I know y’all will not mind that the newsletter is a bit shorter and the new events list a bit more sparse than usual this week.
DNA DAY APRIL 25
This Tuesday, April 25, is DNA Day and there are many DNA webinars and programs on the calendar! FamilySearch is having a full day of free programs (which are usually all made available for viewing later as well on their website). See our calendar devoted to DNA events at https://conferencekeeper.org/dna/
MY 15 SECONDS OF FAME
This week I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Scott Fisher of the Extreme Genes podcast. Scott wasn’t quite sure when our conversation will be aired, but it might be this Monday or the next. I always enjoy talking about ConferenceKeeper.org, and keeping it to just a few minutes was difficult but a lot of fun.
YOUTUBE ADDITION
A new YouTube channel has been added: The Formidable Genealogist https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsjJIjC9Vtw9xkLDSNlPhjg See this and more on our YouTube channels page.
SCHOLARSHIPS!
A new scholarship opportunity for young professionals between 18-35 has been added also. See our Awards, Grants & Scholarships page for details of the APG Young Professional Scholarship. Applications are due by June 1.
While you’re checking out our Awards, Grants & Scholarships page, take note of several deadlines coming quite soon for major institute scholarships! (They’re also listed below in the DEADLINES section of this newsletter).
That’s it for now, other than the list of newly added events, below. As always, please don’t hesitate to use the CONTACT form on the website or email me at info@conferencekeeper.org if you have any suggestions, comments, or questions. I always have access to my email 🙂 I hope y’all have a great week!
