ALL of the upcoming genealogy events.

. . . . . .

This is the last week/weekend of my long road trip, so you can look forward to a lot more new genealogy event additions by next week’s email.  It’s been great to visit with my dad, my sister, two of my kids and my only granddaughter, but it will be nice to be home in a few days, after a total of 4,250 miles. Whew!

I did come across a few genealogical items of interest to share with you this week:

MYHERITAGE FREE ACCESS TO DEATH RECORDS:
MyHeritage is offering free access to their death records through this coming Monday, November 3. https://www.myheritage.com/research/catalog/category-2030/death-burial-cemetery-obituaries

AFRICAN AMERICAN RESEARCH:
If you’re researching enslaved ancestors, you will want to register for the free Nov. 17 webinar from the Lemon Project at the College of William & Mary. “Studying Slavery and Its Afterlives Using Genealogical Research” will be presented by an expert panel comprised of Dr. Jajuan Johnson, Dr. Shelley V. Murphy, and Renate Yarborough Sanders who will share about the work they are doing to document enslaved Ancestors connected to three universities, and the similar goals of and approaches to this work. https://www.wrl.org/event/lemons-legacies-porch-talks-studying-slavery-and-its-afterlives-using-genealogical-research/

GENEALOGY INSTITUTE COURSES:
Applied Genealogy Institute has announced their Spring 2023 Classes. This could be another lovely addition to your Genealogy Christmas gift list!  Registration will be from January 18-24, 2023.  See the website for full details, course titles and instructors, and course information.  https://appliedgen.institute

STORYTELLING THROUGH FAMILY PHOTOS (& a free bonus):
The week before this last one, a few webinars from Ponga.com were added to the calendar that you might not want to miss.  The webinar coming up this Friday on November 7 at 4:00 pm Pacific/5:00 Mtn/6:00 Central/7:00 Eastern is on “Storytelling through Your Family Photos,” with Rhonda Lauritzen of Evalogue Life. Rhonda is a professional biographer as well as a genealogist, and along with sharing a whole lot of great information with you, attendees will also receive Evalogue Life’s Oral History e-Course (a $37 value), as well as a discount on Ponga membership. As always, this isn’t a paid advertisement — I really like Ponga’s rather unique and easy-to-use platform for sharing photos and telling their stories. Register at  https://bit.ly/3U0UWLh

While my response time might be a little slower still for the next day or three, please don’t hesitate to let me know if anything seems amiss on the website, or if you have any suggestions or questions. You can use the CONTACT form on the website or email me at info@conferencekeeper.org. I always sincerely appreciate your input! And as always, thank you for reading 🙂
