What’s New on our calendar to February 7, 2021

February 7, 2021

ConferenceKeeper.org is the most complete online calendar of genealogy events of all kinds – webinars, meetings, workshops, conferences and more!

. . . . . .

New Volunteer Opportunity

Another new genealogy volunteer opportunity was added to our Volunteer page this past week. “Beyond Borders: Transcribing Historic Maine Land Documents.” This project is focused on creating full-text transcriptions of manuscripts dating 1625-1893 – Two significant manuscript collections about colonial Maine land distribution, commonly known as the Kennebec Proprietors and the Pejepscot Proprietors, as well as the Barclay Collection, a collection of papers pertaining to the drawing of the Northeast Boundary between the United States and Canada. If you’ve got five minutes, you’ve got time to volunteer! See several opportunities on our page here.

Genealogy Education Opportunities

One of the fairly new information pages on the website is the Genealogy Education page. Here I’ve listed several educational programs from universities that may provide certificates or degrees upon completion, but also several annual institutes hosted by various genealogy societies or groups. (See the Upcoming Deadline below for one of these -GRIP). Most of these Institutes and even most of the universities are hosting their programs virtually still, so it would be a GREAT time to take advantage of the education, without the travel normally involved! Check out the opportunities for education here.

As always, if you have any comments or suggestions, I’d love to hear them. Email me at info@conferencekeeper.org . I’m always open to whatever it takes to make ConferenceKeeper.org as useful as possible!
