What’s New on our calendar to January 31, 2021

January 31, 2021

ConferenceKeeper.org is the most complete online calendar of genealogy events of all kinds – webinars, meetings, workshops, conferences and more!

. . . . . .

Welcome back to this week’s “What’s New.”  I am seriously in shock at the number of new events we added to the calendar this week — would you believe 144 new genealogy events, including online webinars, seminars, conferences AND an institute?!

Many of the events added this week are focused on African American Genealogy because February is Black History Month (in the US).  There are so many really fascinating program topics to choose from!

Updates

It was brought to my attention that our page for Canadian events was in bad shape — and I sincerely apologize because it really was!  Something was broken in the programming that sorted the events, which led to all sorts of odd occurrences. I’ve put Victoria back in British Columbia where it belongs (and not Ontario), and completely removed Texas and a few other out-of-place locations.  I’d love to have many more events from Canada, so please feel free to submit them!

Website Tips

From any of our pages that display event listings, including the full calendar, the Virtual calendar, and all of the location pages,  you can change the appearance of how those upcoming events display.  In the upper right side of the Events listing area, you’ll see “Pinboard  /  Agenda / Monthly.”   The current default is “Agenda” which shows the events in a chronological list.  But if you would like, you can choose “Pinboard” which will give it a similar appearance to Pinterest, in a bulletin-board style. Or you can choose “Monthly,” which puts everything into a traditional grid calendar format. You can try them out and switch whenever you like!

As always, if you have any comments or suggestions, I’d love to hear them. Email me at info@conferencekeeper.org and let me know what you think of these changes. I’m always open to whatever it takes to make ConferenceKeeper.org as useful as possible!
