My mom used to use the phrase “Feast or Famine” and I guess it’s true with genealogy news and events too! Last week felt sparse on updates, but this week is booming with news, events, new calls for presentations and even new jobs! As always, none of these are paid ads, and none include any kind of affiliate program links. It’s all just good genealogy info I’ve come across this week!

CHOCTAW NATION RECORDS
My parents lived just down the road from the Choctaw Nation Capitol in Tuskahoma for many years, so this caught my eye, and looks like a valuable resource for anyone doing Choctaw research: The Oklahoma Genealogical Society is selling various CDs with Choctaw Nation Indian Territory records including maps; 1896 Choctaw Nation Census; cemetery, church, marriage and miscellaneous records. See the “Store” tab on their website at www.okgensoc.org.
OOPS!
