🔵 GEN-FED OPENS REGISTRATION DRAWING WINDOW

The Genealogical Institute on Federal Records has begun accepting entries for the registration drawing, and will continue to accept them until February 16th, 2024. This wasn’t exactly the original plan, but as artist Bob Ross once said, “There are no mistakes, just happy little accidents.” Acceptance to Gen-Fed is by random drawing and space is limited for the institute which will be held Aug 4-10, 2024. Full details at the Gen-Fed website.

🔵 GRIP SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE
The Donn Devine Memorial Scholarship provides the opportunity for a first-time attendee to the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP) to engage in a comprehensive week-long GRIP course. Applications are due by January 31.

“The National Genealogical Society (NGS) offers the scholarship to an individual who exemplifies the qualities of dedication and volunteerism exhibited by Donn Devine. The scholarship allows the honoree to attend a week-long institute course from the GRIP course catalog the year the award is received. Courses cover various topics, including advanced DNA, AI in genealogy, genealogical documentation, military, land, and ethnic records, regionally focused studies, and more.” Details at https://grip.ngsgenealogy.org/

2024 is starting of quite well, with a surprising number of new societies adding their events to the calendar this past week. It’s completely free publicity, and I’ve been told from more than a few societies and libraries that exposure on the ConferenceKeeper.org calendar has drastically increased their attendance, and even membership. Be sure your local society has their events shared here too!

As always, you may reach me through either the CONTACT form on the website or email at info@conferencekeeper.org . – Tami Osmer Mize
