. . . . . .

Just over 150 new events were added this week, and less than ten of those are for next year. There’s still a LOT of genealogy education coming up not only this month, but through the end of 2022! Here are a few tidbits of genealogy community info that I came across this week:

ROOTSTECH 2023
I was thrilled to hear that RootsTech 2023 will be both in-person and virtual, March 2-4! Registration is now open, and the virtual conference is again completely free. A full pass for all 3 days in-person in Salt Lake City, Utah, is $98. There will be several pass giveaways coming soon to social media from the RootsTech Influencers (your truly included!), but the RootsTech folks have always been really great about refunding your ticket price if you end up winning a free pass. Full details at   https://www.familysearch.org/rootstech/event/rt2023

UPCOMING VOLUNTEER PROJECT
Enoch Pratt Free Library in Maryland is starting up a new volunteer transcription project, and holding a virtual volunteer information session on November 10. The project involves transcribing ledger books containing thousands of names and addresses, from The Mutual Benefit Society – Maryland’s first Black-owned insurance company, operating from 1903 to 1977. CONFERENCE UPDATE & A DEADLINE TODAY!
The Arkansas Genealogical Society Fall Conference October 14-15, It’s All About DNA! Featuring Diahan Southard, now is offering a virtual option, with attendance by Zoom, in addition to the in-person conference option.  Early registration prices are good through TODAY Sunday, October 9. Details at https://argensoc.org/conference/

NEW CONTESTS!
This week you’ll find three new great contests from Reunions Magazine – one of the prizes is a MyHeritage DNA kit.  The Midwest Genealogy Center at the Mid-Continent Public Library in Missouri also has an activity page and contest for October’s Family History month. Details for both are posted on our Contests page. And watch for RootsTech 2023 pass giveaways coming in the next few weeks as well!

As always, please feel free to email me if you’ve got any suggestions or questions. You can use the CONTACT form on the website or email me at info@conferencekeeper.org. I always sincerely appreciate your input! And as always, thank you for reading 🙂
