50+ new genealogy events were added to our calendar this past week!

CALENDAR or VIRTUAL CALENDAR for
ALL of the upcoming genealogy events.

I’ll admit to being distracted this week, which is one reason the list of new additions is smaller than usual. One cause of my distraction is that this was my last week at my previously full-time job, and I had a lot of loose ends to wrap up. Now I’ve got even more time to devote to ConferencceKeeper.org, and I already have a list of ideas to work on! If you’ve got suggestions, ideas, criticisms or compliments, feel free to use the CONTACT form on the website or email me at info@conferencekeeper.org. I always sincerely appreciate your input.

While the list of newly additions is short, there are several submissions from new societies or groups, as well as some very specific topics of interest:

IOWA ANCESTORS:
If you’ve got Iowa ancestors, you may be interested in several of the virtual programs being presented by the German American Heritage Center. They include:

  • May 15 – 1848ers Lecture Series (First of a 5-part series on German 1848ers and their journey to the US )
  • June 5 – Putting Down Roots: Women in Agriculture in Iowa
  • June 12 – Off the Map: Stories of Abandoned and Disappearing Towns Around Iowa
  • Aug 21 – Iowa’s Ethnic Heritage: A Brief Interactive History

HAITIAN ANCESTRY?
I don’t recall ever seeing a program on research in Haiti before! If you’re interested in this area, catch the free webinar from the Association of Haitian Professionals this week on May 17.
