NEW SWEDISH NEWSPAPER DATABASE

Minnesota Historical Society and the Swenson Swedish American Research Center announced a new Swedish American Newspapers database with 348 newspapers and more than 1.3 million fully digitized, searchable pages. For genealogists with Swedish-American ancestry, this collection can help you more easily search and find people, places, organizations, events, and details of community life. ROOTSTECH ART CONTEST

FamilySearch International and The Compass Gallery are accepting original two-dimensional artwork exploring family history, ancestry, heritage, and culture for the juried Roots & Branches exhibition. Selected works will appear online and some at RootsTech 2027. You don’t have to be a professional artist at all – they’re looking for heartfelt entries as much as anything. Always looking for ways to improve or organize our research processes, MyHeritage now lets users replace an estimated DNA relationship with a known one and indicate the maternal or paternal side. MyHeritage’s MyStories can now turn a completed life-story book into an audiobook using an AI narrator or a cloned version of your (or a loved one’s) own voice.
