Topics include DNA fundamentals, tips & tricks, organizing to stay on task, and combining DNA results with family history research.
Registrants will have access to the seminar recordings for three weeks following the event.

🔵 DEAL ENDS SUNDAY – MARCH 31
I’ve seen lots of sales and deal offers from MyHeritage, but the offer I received in my email from RootsMagic this morning really beats all. Not only will you get 60% off a MyHeritage Complete subscription, that same discounted price will apply to future renewals for the next 5 years. Check it out here. (This may well be an affiliate link, but it is not associated with ConferenceKeeper at all.)
🔵 FREE 24-HOUR GENEALOGY WEBINAR MARATHON
Rest up and mark your calendar! The 2024 Legacy Family Tree FREE genealogy webinar marathon will begin on Thursday, April 11 at 5pm eastern U.S. time and end on Friday, April 12 at 5pm eastern U.S. time. See the schedule and get registered for one, some, or all of the webinars at https://familytreewebinars.com/24-marathon/
🔵 SEEKING ASSISTANT EDITOR
The Ohio Genealogical Society is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Editor for the Ohio Genealogical Society Quarterly. Details here.
🔵 AWESOME STUFF FOR GENEALOGISTS
While adding any kind of genealogy event to our calendars is always free, you’ve probably noticed the email sponsorships and sidebar ads — and hopefully more than noticed! I’m pleased that we’re able to keep advertising costs low so that it remains an affordable option for genealogy societies and businesses to highlight their events or products. Check out what our current advertisers are offering — they’re often ads you won’t see anywhere else, and are always specifically of interest to genealogists and family historians.
🔵 THERE’S A GROUP FOR THAT!
What’s your research interest – DNA, Polish, German, Hispanic, Jewish, French-Canadian, Celtic, Military Records, Family Tree Maker, Methodology, Writing, African American? Special Interest Groups (SIG) are an excellent way to get more in-depth understanding of a topic, as well as a wonderful opportunity to share ideas with others working in the same area. Many societies list at least some of their SIGs on our calendar, but there are many more that you can find only on a society’s website. One such new SIG was added to the calendar this week from the Genealogical Society of Greater Miami that’s a bit different from other Hispanic SIGs in that it specifically focuses on the Caribbean Islands. Search our calendars by topic or keyword “SIG” and you’ll find dozens of Special Interest Group meetings!
🔵 MONDAYS WITH MYRT … AND ME 🙂
I’ve been invited to be part of this week’s “Mondays with Myrt”, on Monday April 1, at 12 noon Eastern, to talk about how to easily bulk rename computer files on a PC. I imagine there may be a reference or two to ConferenceKeeper thrown in also. Cyndi Ingle of Cyndi’s List will also be a panelist — should be a lot of fun! Stop by while it’s live, or catch the recording after. https://www.youtube.com/@DearMYRTLEArchive
🔵 SATURDAY WITH … ME AGAIN 🙂
I’m excited to be the featured speaker at the April 6 meeting of the Czechoslovak Area Genealogy Club of Southern California this coming Saturday, talking about my favorite topic: ConferenceKeeper.org. Come get the inside scoop on all the website has to offer. While it’s a members-only program, suggested member donations are only $5.00 per year. https://cagc-ca.org/
🔵 GET A GRIP ON DNA
Whether you are a beginner or more advanced DNA researcher, this year’s GRIP Genealogy Institute has a course for you. This year GRIP is offering two DNA related courses: Advanced DNA Evidence with Blaine Bettinger and Hands-On Genetic Genealogy: Analyzing and Organizing Your DNA with Kelli Jo Bergheimer are both offered as GRIP in-person courses on the LaRoche University campus, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, July 14-19, 2024.
