. . . . . .

I hope y’all had a fabulous first week of this new year. I sure did! Maybe it’s just the whole blank-slate of a new year that makes it seem like anything is possible, but either way, it sure feels like it’s going to be a good year.  Being able to start the year with another 166 new genealogy events is always great too! And of those 166, thirteen are new genealogy contests — ELEVEN are RootsTech pass giveaways! I think I mentioned before, that “Influencers” have been given passes to give away during January, so keep an eye on our CONTESTS page, because I add them as soon as I see them or they’re submitted.  As an Influencer myself, I’ll be running a contest too, probably starting next Sunday. My email subscribers will be the first to know 🙂

WEBINAR, WITH A BONUS

I’m quite fond of the Ponga program for really bringing your photos and family stories to life, and their free webinars are always informative, friendly, and fun. The webinar scheduled for Monday, Jan 9, features Kathy Stone, a professional photo organizer, sharing lots of great tips and info. Plus, as a bonus, all attendees will have the opportunity schedule a free 30-minute 1:1 consultation with Kathy to review their own plan and challenges. Details and registration (free) at https://pxl.to/ruz3ec

GIVE A LITTLE, GET A WHOLE LOT OF DOCUMENTS…

Who Do You Think You Are’s website is promoting their annual “Transcription Tuesday” which, just as it sounds, is a day of volunteer online document transcribing. This year it will be on January 31. They’ve selected four excellent projects to focus on. You can choose whichever you’d like, and don’t need to register in advance to participate in helping make these records more accessible. Full details are at https://www.whodoyouthinkyouaremagazine.com/feature/transcription-tuesday-2023

EVENT UPDATE

Indian River Genealogical Society’s upcoming program “Going Paperless” with Melissa Johnson (Tuesday, January 10, 11 am Eastern), was previously listed as members only. Their programs are open to the public and the Zoom registration link has been posted on their website at www.irgs.org.

Be sure to take a quick look through all the newly posted events below, and get registered for those you don’t want to miss. Please let the hosts know that you saw them on ConferenceKeeper.org if you have the opportunity, too! (thanks!)

As always, thank you so much for all your support, and especially liking and sharing our posts on social media. That really helps extend our visibility!  Please don’t hesitate to use the CONTACT form on the website or email me at info@conferencekeeper.org if you have any suggestions, comments, or questions.  Wishing you the very best year ever in 2023!

– Tami Osmer Mize
