CALENDAR or VIRTUAL CALENDAR for
ALL of the upcoming genealogy events.

. . . . . .

It’s been a difficult week, but I’ve stayed sane by focusing on ConferenceKeeper — did you notice? 249 new events added to the calendar this week! And all the while, my thoughts have wandered, and I have been wondering why our family trees don’t have any place for the pets that are such a big part of our family, and setting mental reminders to include past pets in my family story.

It may take a few minutes to go through all the new events at   , but you’ll be glad you did. So many really great webinars and several new conferences too. I’ll only mention a couple here, that really caught my own eye. Remember, you can see a list of just genealogy Conferences on the website under the “Conferences” tab.

KEEPING TRACK OF YOUR EVENTS
The Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) has submitted three free webinars that will be of value to every genealogist, not just professionals. The Nov. 8 webinar is titled “Organizing Your Genealogical Education and News Alerts,” which discusses ways to keep track of conference and webinar links, upcoming events you may have registered for, due dates and more. This sounds just about perfect for ConferenceKeeper followers!

HOCUS POCUS?
American Ancestors by New England Historical Genealogical Society
has several new webinars and seminars upcoming, some free, some for a fee. One free webinar is titled “Verifying Descent from Salem’s Accused Witches,” by David Allen Lambert on Oct. 20. He’s will also be presenting “Using Cemetery Transcripts in Your Family History Research” on Oct. 6  (free also).

IMMIGRANT ANCESTORS
And if you have immigrant ancestors (who doesn’t?), on Oct. 13, Boston Public Library is hosting a free webinar by New England Historic Genealogical Society’s Senior Genealogist Rhonda R.  McClure on “Applying for Dual Citizenship by Descent.”  Depending on the country your ancestors were from, and whether the immigrants were two, three, or more generations back, you might be eligible for dual citizenship.

As always, please feel free to email me if you’ve got any suggestions or questions. You can use the CONTACT form on the website or email me at info@conferencekeeper.org. I always sincerely appreciate your input! And as always, thank you for reading 🙂
