  • Charles Dickens, 1812. English novelist, publisher and social critic.
  • Sinclair Lewis, 1885. American novelist and social critic. Born Harry Sinclair Lewis.
  • James Augustus Murray, 1837. Best known as the third editor of the Oxford English Dictionary.
