ARIZONA ANCESTORS?

Arizona State Library, Archives, and Public Records has scheduled a series of free webinars to teach attendees how to access certain types of genealogical content found on the Arizona Memory Project.  The meetings will be on Zoom and are free to attend, but space is limited. You can find them on our calendar, or at theirs, at  https://azsos.libcal.com/calendar/starl

INSTITUTES ADDED

The Applied Genealogy Institute has announced their Fall courses, and as always, they include a stellar lineup of instructors on a variety of genealogical subjects. Learn Applied Genetic Genealogy with Leah Larkin, PhD; Public Speaking for Genealogists with Jean Wilcox Hibben, PhD;  An Exploration of US Routes & Records for Work and Travel in the 19th to Early 20th Centuries with Pamela Vittorio; Using Land Records to Solve Genealogical Problems with Lisa S. Gorrell, CG; and Writing Reports: For Clients, Family Members, Other Researchers and Yourself, with Sara Gredler, CG.   The registration window will be August 17-23 (but I’ll remind you about it again!). https://appliedgen.institute/

The ISBGFH British Institute is planned this year for October 8-13 and will be in-person in Salt Lake City, with another all-star line up of courses and instructors as well: Thomas MacEntee: A Genealogist’s Guide to the Technology Galaxy; Paul Milner: Scottish Research: The Fundamentals and Beyond; Kori Robbins & Dan Poffenberger: Once More into the Breach: England Research at the FamilySearch Library; David Rencher & Rick Sayre: Irish Law and Government Documents. Registration for ISBGFH members is now open and the member early bird discount ends May 31. Everyone may register on June 1.  www.isbgfh.com

PREFER FREE & VIRTUAL?

Along with about 120 other webinars added to our calendar this month, the June free webinars for The Genealogy Center at Allen County Public Library  are now updated on our calendar.  If you’ve got Southern (US) ancestors, you won’t want to miss the program on June 27: Southern research expert J. Mark Lowe will be presenting   “Fundamental Research in the South.”  Mark is often a featured speaker at Institutes, Conferences and Seminars across the country, but this program, like all others at ACPL’s Genealogy Center, is completely free. See all of their upcoming events at https://acpl.libnet.info/events

There is never enough space to list every excellent genealogy education opportunity on our calendar. At any minute you’ll find many great speakers and topics in upcoming programs from genealogical societies, libraries, and genealogy businesses all over! Check out this week’s newly added events, below, to find your next learning opportunity!

Thank you for your emails with comments, suggestions and corrections! I am always looking at ways to improve the website, and your suggestions really help me know what to work on next.
