🔵 A FEW NUMBERS OF INTEREST
Over the course of 2023, just over 9,800 genealogy events were shared on the ConferenceKeeper.org calendars. That’s roughly 27 events each day of the year. 2024 marks the beginning of our ninth year of this completely free service, sharing genealogy events of all kind. What skills do you need to learn to further your family history research? There’s sure to be a webinar, class or program of some kind that can help you! Use the “Search” box on any of our calendars to find what you’re looking for!

🔵 LEGACY FAMILY TREE WEBINARS FOR 2024
Legacy Family Tree Webinars has opened registration for their 2024 lineup of 168 classes. The live webinars are free for all to watch when presented, with recordings free also for the first week. LFTW members can enjoy the site’s existing library of over 2,100 classes plus over 8,000 pages of instructors’ handouts. Additionally, only members may view the webinars in the series “The Best of Elizabeth Shown Mills” – definitely a huge value!

You can find the list of 2024 webinars with registration links here. Download a PDF of the 2024 Series here. The 2024 LFTW programs have been added to the ConferenceKeeper calendars as well, and are included in this week’s list of new events.

🔵 SCGS 2024 WEBINAR SERIES
The Southern California Genealogical Society is again offering a free webinar series for 2024. The first three programs are listed on their website now, and have been added to our calendar as well: Searching Large Academic Databases Without an Academic Affiliation by Peter McCracken, Cemetery Clues: 7 Steps to Comprehensive Research by Lisa Lisson, and Court Records Research without the Law Degree by Kate Townsend. You can find full details about their 2024 Webinar Series on the society’s website.

🔵 DISCOUNT ENDS JAN 1
The Virtual Genealogical Skills Bootcamp from American Ancestors by New England Historic Genealogical Society will be Jan 18, 19 & 20. It includes 12 lectures, handouts and materials, and access to recordings, plus demo and activity sessions with their experts and other participants. It’s discounted by 50% but only until Monday January 1! Details here.

🔵 MORE NEW GENEALOGY TOOLS FROM MYHERITAGE
MyHeritage has announced the release of two new AI features for genealogy. AI Record Finder™ is an interactive, intelligent, free-text chat to help you locate historical records about a specific ancestor or relative, using MyHeritage’s database of nearly 20 billion records. AI Biographer™ automatically compiles a Wikipedia-style biography article about a person’s life using details from matching historical records and family tree profiles.

Thank you so much for all your emails and support this past year! Your suggestions have helped improve the website, and your submissions have helped many more people find and attend your events! I’m grateful to be able to continue to provide this service under the National Genealogical Society, and look forward to bigger, better, and even more genealogy education in 2024 🙂

And please accept my apologies in advance for any omissions, duplication or errors this week, as quite honestly I’m a bit fuzzy brained — I’m still on the road, but taking a few days (ok, more like a week) at a campground in sunny El Paso, TX to recover from a bout of flu this week. As always, you may reach me through either the CONTACT form on the website or email at info@conferencekeeper.org . Here’s to a great new year! – Tami Osmer Mize
