- Susan Brownell Anthony, 1820. American reformer, abolitionist and militant advocate of women’s suffrage. First American woman to have her likeness on a coin.
- Harold Arlen, 1905. American composer and songwriter, best known for “Over the Rainbow” and “Stormy Weather”.
- John Barrymore, 1882. American actor from the well known Barrymore family.
- Abraham Clark, 1726. Signer of the Declaration of Independence.
- Galileo Galilei, 1564. Physicist and astronomer who helped overthrow medieval concepts of the world.
- Miep Gies, 1909. Â Dutch wife of Jan Gies, who together helped hide the Frank family from the Nazis.
- Cyrus H. McCormick, 1809. Inventor of the reaper.
- Irena Sendler, 1910. Polish worker who smuggled 2,500 Jewish children out of the Warsaw Ghetto in WWII.
Ernest Shackleton, 1874. Antarctic explorer. - John Augustus Sutter, 1803. German settler in Sacramento, California, on whose property gold was first discovered.
- Charles Lewis Tiffany, 1812. American jeweler.
