Free genealogy classes for veterans in Conway, AR

Arkansas – The Conway VA Clinic, located at 1520 Dave Ward Drive will offer genealogy classes to veterans and their spouses every Friday during the month of April.

Beginning Genealogy will be at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. This class is for veterans and their spouses who are interested in family history and those who have recently started researching their family history. You will learn where to begin and with whom to begin researching; how to contact family members for information; sources available for research; using resources such as libraries, state archives, genealogy societies and websites. You will also learn how to organize your records. A notebook that includes forms and a list of resources will be provided for those who enroll.The intermediate class will be held from 11 a.m. to noon is for those who have been researching for a while and have brick walls or problem ancestors. We will discuss ways of solving these issues.

Both classes will be taught by Jo Kilduff, whose family has resided in the Faulkner, Conway, and White County area since the 1830s and has been researching for over 40 years. She is a member of Cadron Post Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and Mary Place Chapter, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century. You may enroll by calling the VA Clinic at 501-548-0500.
