  • Walter Lanier ‘Red’ Barber, 1908. One of the first broadcasters inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
  • Arcangelo Correli, 1653. Italian composer and violinist.
  • Buster Crabbe, 1908. Clarence Lindon “Buster” Crabbe, Olympic gold medal swimmer from California in 1932, after which he played Tarzan, Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers in the movies.
  • Rene Theophile Hyacinthe Laennec, 1781. French physician, author, and inventor of the stethoscope.
  • Thomas Malthus, 1766. English demographer and author, known for population theories.
  • Samuel Sidney McClure, 1857. Irish-American newspaper editor and publisher, founder of newspaper syndicate.
