Calendar bites, Jan. 11

  • Alexander Hamilton, 1755. He is best known as an American founding father, diplomat, soldier, and co-author of the Federalist Papers, but probably equally known for his death due to a gunshot from a duel with Aaron Burr.
  • John A. MacDonald, 1815.  Born in Scotland, he was the first prime minister of Canada.
  • Alice Paul, 1885. Founder of the National Woman’s Party in 1913.

National Clean-Off Your Desk Day. Glad to hear it’s just one day a year as for many of our genealogist friends this may be a daunting task.
