WEBSITE UPDATES
Have you noticed the updates to the website this week?

  • New icons/buttons on Home page – and more of them. This should make navigating on mobile devices easier as well.   You can still navigate via the top, green Menu bar, which has also been revised and cleaned up a bit as well.
  • Removed ads at the top of the page (above masthead) on front page.
  • Removed state research links from each state page. The links keep changing and causing dead links which is annoying to everyone. This helps keep the focus on genealogy events as well..
  • Checked/verified a couple thousand links on the website (which doesn’t include event URLs), and fixed or removed broken links.  You might not realize this, but our website has the most current and complete listing of US genealogical societies available online (found on the right side of each “State” location page. If you have a moment, check the link to your own society to verify it is going where it should!

I’m really working hard to grow ConferenceKeeper.org — the more people that know about it, the more events get added, and the better it is for everyone!  If you like using the website and find it useful, please take a moment to write a quick review on Google or Facebook. Review really do help increase our visibility and reach. Here are the links:

NEED OR WANT A GENEALOGY WEBSITE OF YOUR OWN?
(As always, this is NOT a paid advertisement – Just passing on good information!)
Creating and maintaining a basic website is easier than most people realize – with just a little training, you can have your own site to share your personal research publicly (or privately), or set up a lovely new modern-looking website for your genealogy society. Genealogy Website Builders (Ed Thompson, best known for his awesome software Evidentia) has a two-session Website Building Bootcamp coming up (and both are on the CK calendar) for under $20.  There are two different times (each with two sessions) depending on what time zone you’re in and what will work best for you. You can find out more about the Boot Camp at https://genealogywebsitebuilders.com
