BASIC GENEALOGY SERIES VIDEOS
The State Historical Society of Missouri ran a 12-part Basic Genealogy series recently, and all twelve parts are now available online to watch for free at your leisure. The webinars, hosted by Bill Eddleman, professional genealogist and associate director of the SHSMO Cape Girardeau Research Center, explore how to use land, court, probate, and vital records to find and follow the chronicles of an ancestor’s life. The series discusses a variety of popular online services, newspapers and manuscript, touches on DNA testing, and ends with how to organize and preserve the research gathered. You can find the series here: https://shsmo.org/on-demand/basic-genealogy

GENEALOGY EDUCATION VIA STUDY GROUP
As of this writing there were still a few places available for the Fall program of the GenProof Study Groups.  Details about the program are at https://genproofstudygroups.com/  Registration is via Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/genproof-study-groups-8-week-program-fall-2022-sessions-registration-368429461437

THREE FREE WEBINAR SERIES
Fall will be here sooner than you think, which always brings Legacy Family Tree Webinars’ “Webtember” Series. These free webinars on Fridays in September have been added to the calendar and are in today’s “What’s New” list also.  Two other not-to-miss webinar series from LFTW are next weekend’s Military Research mini conference (July 23) and the October 7 Joy Reisinger Memorial series (I’d previously put all webinars on one calendar entry, but they’re also now included individually, as you can register for as many of the presentations as you’d like. )

On the topic of Legacy Family Tree Webinars,  now that I have more time for my own research, I finally subscribed to their webinars program this week. I was looking for more information a specific topic (Zotero for Genealogy) and had exhausted the few other available resources online.  I’m almost overwhelmed to now have access to their library of over 1800 webinar, many with syllabi too. It’s really great to be researching along and come across a topic I need more info on, turn to the webinar library and learn almost instantly.  Membership is $49 a year, but they do run great sales throughout the year too. As always, this is NOT a paid ad – just sharing my experience 😊 More here: https://familytreewebinars.com/

That’s about it for this week. If you have ANY comments, suggestions or questions,  please use the CONTACT form on the website or email me at info@conferencekeeper.org. I always sincerely appreciate your input! And as always, thank you for reading 🙂
