. . . . . .

It has been an insane week for me, and I apologize that it’s taken me away from collecting more genealogy events, and even getting this post and email out timely! We’d been helping a friend who was in a bad wreck this week, and also dealt quite a blow to find out our beloved pup’s health is failing. That was on the same day that I flew to Texas to give a couple of programs on cool tools for genealogy. Aside from a few logistics and technical difficulties, I think they both went well.  I’m planning on setting up my presentation information on a new website, but I’ll mention that once it’s done (so many plans, so little time 🙂  It was a very nice crowd that attended the East Texas Genealogical Society’s 20th Anniversary all-day event, and I really enjoyed meeting several folks who follow ConferenceKeeper 🙂 Afterward, I drove back to Dallas to stay with my daughter, just in time for my granddaughter’s 2nd birthday party in the evening. Last night I slept like a log!

NEWS & UPDATES
I’ve corrected the date for HeritageQuests’s (Virtual) Autumn Quest featuring Rick Sayre, CG, CGL, FUGA. the Correct date is Saturday October 29. Rick is a wonderful speaker and will be presenting programs on Homesteads Records—Online Tools and More; Cool Tools for the Cemetery; NARA website and More; and Military Manuscript Collection.

There are more new advertisers on the website sidebars this week also (and more being added today)!  Please be sure to check out what they’re offering, whether an upcoming conference or course, or some really neat different genealogy tools, books, and publications. If you’ve got old photos, or are overwhelmed with photos, definitely check out what Vivid-Pix has put together for solutions (it’s so much more than photo restoration!!).  I really love being able to support smaller businesses this way, as well as maybe help y’all become aware of some great products and programs that are out there!

The Vermont Genealogical Society has submitted several upcoming events, including two programs on using Airtable, which I’m planning on catching myself. I’ve used Airtable since it first came out, and rely on it primarily for managing ConferenceKeeper, as well as all of my own personal genealogy research. I even blogged about it (a few years ago!) over on my RelativelyCurious.com blog.  I’d like to ask that if you do sign up for a free Airtable account, please use my invitation link of bit.ly/AirtableInv which will in turn provide a small but beneficial amount of credit for ConferenceKeeper, as due to the amount of usage, I  have an upgraded account. Huge thanks!

I just have to slip in another apology in case I’ve missed or forgotten anything this week — please let me know!

And, I know you’re getting tired of hearing me talk about the advertising, but it really does help keep the website going — a lot!  I sincerely would appreciate your thoughts on the ads and how they affect your experience on ConferenceKeeper.  I always want the site to be useful, informative and a valuable service to the entire genealogy community. As always, please feel free to email me if you’ve got any suggestions or questions. You can use the CONTACT form on the website or email me at info@conferencekeeper.org. I always sincerely appreciate your input! And as always, thank you for reading 🙂
